Absence, watercolor,
55,5 x 38 сm., 2021
My painting is called “Absence” and I created it in honor of all living beings we miss in our lives but we wish they to be with us.
It's part of my cycle “You”.
Kintsugi, watercolor,
38 x 38 сm., 2021
The beauty of imperfection is lyrically embodied in the Japanese art of kintsugi for repairing broken pottery. Instead of the usual way of fixing the broken pieces with glue, this technique uses a mixture of a special wood varnish, powder of gold, silver or platinum.
The beautiful golden stitches do not shamefully hide the fractures and cracks, on the contrary, the gold emphasize them. Kintsugi turns the repaired item into something very valuable and exquisite… so precious in the eyes of the owner. Be gentle with your heart, guys :))
This painting is part of my cycle “You”.
Argus, charcoal and pencils on paper,
50 x 70 сm., 2022
Each of us is Argus (a hundred-eyed giant guardian in Greek mythology who never closes all his eyes at once), the eyes capture the states of our souls, and the broken pieces of the mirror reflect every nuance and they form our whole “self”. My painting is an illustration of the different versions of ourselves that each of us holds in our hearts. Although they are all so different, if we arrange the jagged fragments and look at the finished image, our gaze will meet in the reflection two very familiar eyes…
It's part of my cycle “You”.
Mine, ink on paper,
50 x 70 сm., 2022
Am I really yours? What part of me you own? My shell, my blood, my heart, my soul…? Take them all.
“My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”
~ Matthew 26:39
Home, watercolor,
35 x 40 сm., 2024
This painting is inspired by nature and the warmth of my friend.
Eniovden, watercolor,
55,5 х 38., 2024
A watercolor painting made by me, intertwining in itself the symbolism of a very sad love legend from Bulgarian folklore named “Eniova Bullya”. This story lies at the heart of a tradition which is a part of the old holiday named “Eniovden” / “Midsummer Day”, celebrated annually on June 24th.
Romeo and Juliet, soft pastel,
40 x 32 сm., 2022
“My bounty is as boundless as the sea,
My love as deep. The more I give to thee,
The more I have, for both are infinite.”
Twelfth night, soft pastel,
40 x 32 сm., 2022
“If music be the food of love, play on,
Give me excess of it; that surfeiting,
The appetite may sicken, and so die.”
